This modern condo called for a sleek, simple and subtle set of colors, materials and finishes. We integrated hard surfaces and a subtle mix of warm and cool colors. Keeping things simple, unique and soft but still exciting and sleek. Overall, we created a nice flow from space to space, connecting the spaces with materials and forms through our interior selections.
The color palette was a very subtle mix of warm and cool colors. To achieve the modern feel desired by the home owner, we wanted to minimize the competition between patterns and textures, keeping the space feeling cohesive and elegant. Using neutral tones created the feeling of tranquility and sophistication that was desired.
In staying with the modern, clean lines and shapes, using panel ready appliances was a must. Having all the kitchen appliances blend in with the cabinetry to create an integrated and clean look made a world of difference in the overall feel of the space.
Unique lighting features were also added to give a touch of visual interest, while keeping the overall space sleek and minimal.
Plumbing fixtures can really set the tone for any style trying to be achieved. We wanted to make sure there was nothing extra added, no clutter, keeping simple, minimal and neutral chrome fixtures added the perfect modern touch.
In modern design, minimal competition between textures, patterns and colors are a must. We wanted to keep everything somewhat consistent but create just enough visual interest. For example, keeping tile on the main level and the upper level are the same size, texture and material but slightly different colors. Originally we wanted to use concrete, but it would have been more difficult to use in the space, thus moving forward with a tile that gave us the same clean feel.
The stone was hand picked by the client and added a perfect touch to the overall color palette and mix of textures. We chose a stone with soft, horizontal lines to compliment the modern feel. The mixture of warm wood with the cool hard surfaces kept things exciting yet simple, as desired.
The last unique feature that was added to this modern condo design was the rubber tread we added to the stairway. This created a soft, durable and forgiving surface that was not only functional (for slip resistance), but also went perfectly with the mixture of surfaces in this modern palette.
