Del Camino

Our Del Camino home in Arizona is a modern, multi-level home with a two-story-tall great room space surrounded by floor-to-ceiling window to make the entire home light, open and airy. This openness also creates a connection to the scenic backyard with the great room actually opening up to accommodate indoor / outdoor living.

Another way we create indoor / outdoor living is with two levels of rooftop terraces – one accessed via an exterior spiral staircase. The upper level also includes an exercise room (or multifunctional space that could be an exercise room or an additional lounge space) that overlooks and is open to both the front and back of the house.

The lower level accommodates a car lift in the garage that can bring cars down into the lower level from the owner’s collection.

The backyard features a swimming pool with details that are modern; the water is flush with the pool deck around it. It has a sun shelf for recliner chairs in the water. There’s also a sunken fire pit adjacent to the pool creating a nice outdoor living space overlooking the lake. We included a covered porch for outdoor dining and lounging while getting relief from the hot sun.

The exterior is modern with stucco and metal on the facias of the flat roofs. Its massing offers a lot of interest to the house with deep overhangs that block out the harshest mid-day sun from getting in to the rest of the home, while still maximizing views out.
