MAISON MODERN

Located on a golf course, our Maison Modern home has a district feature that greets visitors: a steel and glass solarium that ties together two separate buildings: the main house with its pool house and then the mother-in-law suite.

The feature creates forms that are juxtaposed, solving our clients wish list and creating an architectural landmark. While the home, mother-in-law suite and pool house were all to be built at the same time, our clients wanted a feel of two separate buildings. Additionally, the solarium gives them a place to retreat during winter months and feel connected with nature due to all the plants that will inhabit the space.

Another wish list item we solved was situating the house on the site to maximize outdoor living and pool areas with ample amounts of sunlight, with covered spaces to escape from direct sun if needed. Doing solar studies was key!

Our clients are such avid golfers, their home is on a golf course AND there is a golf simulation space on the main level of the home.

Georgia Modern

Located near Lake Oconee in Georgia, we designed this home following a barn concept; it’s a simple mass that opens up to a big volume of space with a loft. It’s very cubical so you have one giant rectangular form with spaces attached to it. One is the primary suite; the other is the garage. Clean and simple lines, materials and design execution.

Fairway ranch

Coming soon to Honey Hill: Fairway Ranch, a beautiful, custom designed home with panoramic views of prairie and lake. With defining stone walls, arched entries, large backyard terrace and thoughtful indoor/outdoor flow, this home is a timeless, modern design.  Spanning two lots in the Honey Hill neighborhood, this property includes a horse barn that will still be used by this horse-loving family. A few lots remain; if you’re interested, contact us >

MONTANA MOUNTAIN HOME

Our Montana Mountain home at at one with its landscape and supports our clients outdoorsy lifestyle. Large glass panel walls out to the mountains and the valley view as well. A deck also runs along the full main level of the house, creating indoor-outdoor living environments for fresh Montana mountain air. Cars enter under the great room of the house into a covered car port area that’s sheltered from the environment by the house itself.

The other siding materials used on the house are corrugated steel and metal soffits and facias, which are meant to withstand the harsh environment up at such a high altitude and be low maintenance for the home owners. A sloping, steep metal roof sheds all the accumulated snow off the back of the house.

Kingly Modern

We call this Lake Minnetonka home ‘Kingly Modern’ because it fuses Tudor elements with highly modern updates. A key characteristic is the strong architectural massing of the home. In terms of form and scale, you enter into a lower foyer space then are released into a two-story great room with a two-story-high glass wall that looks out onto the lake.

The main-level living plan is thoughtfully designed for today’s family life with a primary suite, a scullery kitchen and pantry, and exercise room with lots of natural light. A circular staircase becomes a sculptural element in the home. Outside, the pool was designed to complement the home with all architectural elements working together.

Cotswold on the lake

Our Cotswald on the Lake home was designed to feel as though it’s always been on this site; our client wanted a home that would feel timeless – one that could have been built 200 years ago.

A key feature is the front arched entryway which leads visitors into a vaulted foyer. From there, you’re led into a great room that overlooks Lake Minnetonka. The compression of the foyer space into the taller great room space, with its wall of glass, creates a release and welcomes people inside.

Nearly everything in the home is custom designed — light fixtures to furniture. Creativity coupled with attention to detail is something our firm loves and it shows in this design.

Calizonia formal

Our first Calizonia Formal signature style home was designed for a couple relocating to Arizona. Calizonia Casual was based on the same style, as our client saw Calizonia Formal and fell in love with it.

The pool area has multiple gathering spaces for cooking, relaxing, reading – and margaritas. A necessity in Arizona, our pool areas are designed for luxury.

Colorado old world charmer

Situated on a big plot of land, we designed this home strategically on the site to capture expansive mountain views out the front of the house.

Every day, their views are oriented towards to the mountains. Architectural style-wise, we use traditional mountain Architecture elements like stone, but made it modern with lots of big glass and lots of fireplaces. Our clients want a family home, yet one for entertaining. We designed a casual Old World rambler, that flows from one gathering space to the next, connecting the interior to the exterior courtyards around the house. With its impressive stone exterior, we softened the interior with arched entries, openings and ceilings, and used wood ceilings and beams to bring warmth and some rustic design to spaces. Light enters the home from all sides.

Deerhaven

An extensive remodel of a mid-century modern rambler, this home is designed to display our clients’ art collection throughout. We thought through views out to Lake Minnetonka – but also views of the art. The existing ceilings were fairly low, so we cut part of the roof off to create a row of transom windows all around the great room.

LAKESHORE REMODEL

Everyone loves a space you can hang out in all day and night. For our Lakeshore Remodel, our clients wanted their lower level completely reimagined. We opened the space up, revising the structure and mechanical systems to create an entire level for fun.

The new space includes a golf simulator, fitness area, game room, entertainment room,

wine cellar and bar. Glass doorways are used throughout to bring natural light and a feeling of openness to all spaces in the lower level. We used a fireproof window to showcase a car in an adjacent garage as well.

Located on Lake Minnetonka, we incorporated lots of warm wood elements – a nod to the lake feel of the home.
