LAKE MINNETONKA, MN

Lakehouse Horizon

Our home designed for a lot on Lake Minnetonka has two central features that frame up each view. First, the lake. Second, the courtyard. This courtyard serves many purposes:  it serves as the entry to the home, it provides light to enter into places that might otherwise be more interior and large doors open up out to the courtyard – effectively like having Spruce trees in the main space of the home. Clients can enjoy the courtyard as its own private retreat, sheltered from the strong winds. All the rooms in the home are oriented either towards the courtyard or towards the lake.

More outdoor living can happen on the back patio; the deep roof overhangs provide cover from the sun and other elements when you’re out on the patio.

Inside, it’s all modern, with minimal details. Popped-up ceilings in the great room provide additional windows at the transom level, creating light and airy spaces. A feature fireplace connects the great room to the office space beyond and allows both rooms to utilize the fireplace. It’s single level living at its finest.
