MAISON MODERN
Located on a golf course, our Maison Modern home has a district feature that greets visitors: a steel and glass solarium that ties together two separate buildings: the main house with its pool house and then the mother-in-law suite.
The feature creates forms that are juxtaposed, solving our clients wish list and creating an architectural landmark. While the home, mother-in-law suite and pool house were all to be built at the same time, our clients wanted a feel of two separate buildings. Additionally, the solarium gives them a place to retreat during winter months and feel connected with nature due to all the plants that will inhabit the space.
Another wish list item we solved was situating the house on the site to maximize outdoor living and pool areas with ample amounts of sunlight, with covered spaces to escape from direct sun if needed. Doing solar studies was key!
Our clients are such avid golfers, their home is on a golf course AND there is a golf simulation space on the main level of the home.
Opulent Dwelling
Our Opulent Dwelling represents a substantial Architectural remodel that involved relocating the existing upper-level catwalk bridge to expand the great room and kitchen, eliminating wasted circulation space while creating a more spacious, comfortable gathering area.
The interior is completely transformed. A custom floating fireplace became the home's central design feature. The fireplace is wrapped in a unique glass-brick enclosure with a linear gas insert and floating stone hearth – a glowing focal point visible from the entry, kitchen and adjacent great room.
New plaster-finished columns, wood ceiling details, and natural materials replace dated finishes, while maintaining a clean, minimalist design approach.
The kitchen was redesigned with a sleek, uncluttered appearance and paired with a secondary scullery kitchen, allowing catering and entertaining functions to operate behind the scenes.
The lower level was reimagined as a family and wellness retreat including an entertainment room, exercise studio, two additional bedrooms with a shared lounge and a wellness spa featuring a sauna, steam room, and salt therapy room. The fitness area overlooks the sports court and connects directly outdoors.
Through thoughtful space planning, luxurious materials, abundant natural light and seamless indoor-outdoor connections, the home is a deeply personalized retreat that balances elegance, warmth, functionality and entertainment-focused living.
Modern Scandinavian Retreat
Blending natural wood elements with geometric, stone forms creates the structure for our Modern Scandinavian home.
It also blends materials that each of our clients wanted to see in their new home; one wanted warm wood tones and one wanted more industrial, anchoring stone. The result is a uniquely modern home, all set for summer lake life.
A custom design includes everything in the home and is our specialty. Being able to cater to each client's needs, we can create a truly unique home that fits their lifestyle. From custom countertop heights to thoughtfully detailed, functional cabinetry, we can design the simple touches that elevate how they live.
Georgia Modern
Located near Lake Oconee in Georgia, we designed this home following a barn concept; it’s a simple mass that opens up to a big volume of space with a loft. It’s very cubical so you have one giant rectangular form with spaces attached to it. One is the primary suite; the other is the garage. Clean and simple lines, materials and design execution.
Fairway ranch
Coming soon to Honey Hill: Fairway Ranch, a beautiful, custom designed home with panoramic views of prairie and lake. With defining stone walls, arched entries, large backyard terrace and thoughtful indoor/outdoor flow, this home is a timeless, modern design. Spanning two lots in the Honey Hill neighborhood, this property includes a horse barn that will still be used by this horse-loving family. A few lots remain; if you’re interested, contact us >
Cotswold on the lake
Our Cotswald on the Lake home was designed to feel as though it’s always been on this site; our client wanted a home that would feel timeless – one that could have been built 200 years ago.
A key feature is the front arched entryway which leads visitors into a vaulted foyer. From there, you’re led into a great room that overlooks Lake Minnetonka. The compression of the foyer space into the taller great room space, with its wall of glass, creates a release and welcomes people inside.
Nearly everything in the home is custom designed — light fixtures to furniture. Creativity coupled with attention to detail is something our firm loves and it shows in this design.
Modern Country Home
Introducing our new Modern Country home. Located in the Honey Hill development in Orono, it’s already loved by the family that will be living there.
“One fun aspect for the design meetings was the couple’s kids were in most, if not all of the design meetings, so they got to participate and talk about what they liked and didn’t like and make some changes as we went. They got to walk through the home virtually, and I think they all really enjoyed experiencing it in the VR headsets! The clients got a lot of benefit from it and the tool was highly utilized both during meetings in the office and when the clients were at home,” our principal designer Rob Hull explained.
A perfect family home, the great room is designed for easy indoor / outdoor access. We used a black and white color scheme with lap siding that creates a unique pattern and rhythm – something you don’t see every day. A circle drive brings you to the entry of the home, and the garage is hidden around the bend. Designed for a true Minnesota family, the lower level has plenty of space for the kids to hang out and extra space for playing hockey.
LAKESHORE REMODEL
Everyone loves a space you can hang out in all day and night. For our Lakeshore Remodel, our clients wanted their lower level completely reimagined. We opened the space up, revising the structure and mechanical systems to create an entire level for fun.
The new space includes a golf simulator, fitness area, game room, entertainment room,
wine cellar and bar. Glass doorways are used throughout to bring natural light and a feeling of openness to all spaces in the lower level. We used a fireproof window to showcase a car in an adjacent garage as well.
Located on Lake Minnetonka, we incorporated lots of warm wood elements – a nod to the lake feel of the home.
