Countryside Rambler
Our Countryside Rambler is located in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Because the whole house is situated on a hill, how you can enter the site was a design challenge we solved with a unique side entry system.
Our client wanted to take advantage of the expansive views but the one side was challenging because you were looking back out to the garage. So we designed nice, large windows on both sides, being mindful of what we were seeing out that way and exactly how the garage was positioned.
With no vestibule into the home and no formal foyer, once you walk in, you’re a part of the great room right away. We wanted to make sure that you didn’t feel like you were walking right into the great room but into this larger space as a whole. So we tied it back to the stair – having the staircase right next to the entry door.
Our client prefers a breakfast nook and using the island as the main seating rather than a formal dining room. We also wanted to design a connection between the entertainment space into the kitchen – having everything open to each other. We wanted to keep the connection between the entertainment space into the kitchen with everything open to each other.
